About Lie Detector Test London

A SMALL INTRODUCTION

Client well-being and confidentiality are central to our approach. We listen carefully to every matter and carry out suitability checks to ensure a polygraph examination is appropriate and that clients fully understand the process.

Our team of six male and female polygraph examiners has over 30 years of combined experience. All examiners are vetted, trained and accredited by the British Polygraph Society and the American Polygraph Association (APA). The APA membership classification held by each examiner is available upon request.

Training and Experience:

What The APA Requires Before Anyone Calls Themselves An Examiner:

Accreditation is not simply a certificate that is issued. A school must meet the APA’s requirements for its syllabus, instructors and examination standards, while students must also meet the school’s requirements. In summary:

  • At least 400 hours of in-person training at an accredited school — approximately ten weeks of full-time classroom instruction.

  • Training in psychophysiology, question formulation and chart analysis as distinct areas of study. Interpreting charts is different from developing effective questions, and accurate analysis cannot compensate for poorly constructed questions.

  • A supervised practical internship involving practice examinations, assessed and reviewed by a qualified examiner before conducting examinations independently.

  • Continuing education every two years to maintain professional standing and remain up to date with evolving techniques and scoring methods.

  • Compliance with the APA Standards of Practice, covering how examinations are conducted, documented and reported, as well as how results are evaluated.

The standard is intentionally demanding because a polygraph instrument does not provide an answer by itself it produces charts. Turning those charts into a reliable, defensible opinion requires an examiner who can formulate the right questions, use a validated technique, apply an established scoring system, and recognise when a result should be reported as inconclusive rather than making an unsupported conclusion.

No Case is Undertaken Until All of These Requirements Have Been Met.

Screening & Verification:

The qualifications outlined above are the minimum requirements, not the complete standard. The process follows a defined sequence and continues even after an examiner joins the team.

Qualifications, Checked

APA academy training, a qualification in forensic psychology, and a minimum of five years’ experience conducting private polygraph examinations. The APA membership level held by each examiner is available upon request.

Suitability & Professional Conduct

A qualification demonstrates technical competence, but it does not determine how an examiner handles a nervous or distressed client. That is why every examiner is also vetted for suitability and professional conduct, with training in managing high-conflict situations.

Tailored to Your Questions

Examiners have specialised areas of expertise. Our client support team matches each case with the examiner best suited to the specific type of questions involved, rather than simply assigning whoever is available.

Reviewed by a Second Examiner

No report is issued based solely on one examiner’s chart interpretation. Every result is independently reviewed by a second qualified examiner before being provided to you, helping verify both the findings and the examiner’s assessment.
